what is xml?
How to subscribe to cx-i updates
The orange xml button is a rapidly spreading standard across web sites
to enable you to stay informed of new or updated
content. What happens is that I update a file on
cx-i (the xml feed) every time I add new information. This file is
automatically machine-read every day by xml-readers and by subscribing to one
of these readers you can be kept informed of updates. You can, therefore, get
updates from all your favourite sites, provided they offer this type of xml
service. Most people who have started this type of subscription service wonder
how they previously survived without it!
You can subscribe to cx-i updates in 2 easy steps:
-
Subscribe to a reader service - I use
Bloglines, which is free and registration is easy (only
email address, password, time zone and language required). (See other reader services available - they are called 'RSS
readers' for reasons explained
here)
-
Click on the one of the xml buttons in the left-hand column of this page. This
will take you to a page of xml gobbledegook: ignore it completely but copy
the web address (URL). Then go to the 'My Feeds' section of
Bloglines, click the 'Add' button and paste it into the textbox called
'Blog or Feed URL'. Hit the Subscribe button and you will be automatically
notified of all updates to cx-i.com.
